Meg’s Second Law

“When you assume your workforce is stupid they will learn to prove you right.”

Too many times have I seen bureaucratic policies put in place because of a minority of people who make idiotic choices, who are defended because “no policy outlaws it”.

Too many times have simple tasks taken 5 days intead of 5 hours because of a multitude of procedures to follow, having to find the right people to get authorisations, and requiring the right forms to be completed – all so that no-one gets blamed if something goes pear-shaped.

Meg’s Second Law resonated with me.
